Kitchen counters for many decades to come

Elegant kitchens demand elegant counters complimenting them both in appearance and style, for example countertops of the Spanish COSENTINO’s Silestone or Dekton technical stone.

But what is technical stone?

“A COMPOSITE BORN FROM YEARS OF RESEARCH AND INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT, WHICH CONSISTS OF THE FINELY POWDERED GROUND SUBSTANCE OF NATURAL STONE AND ADDITIVES ENHANCING PHYSICAL PROPERTIES, MAKING THEM EVEN MORE DURABLE.”

What beneficial physical properties do they possess?

Besides the general 20mm countertop thickness, Silestone and Dekton countertops also come in 12mm thickness, following today’s ethereal elegant slim trends.

If we wish to take the opposite direction and add a masculine twist to achieve a characteristic look, we are still welcome to choose from the selection of these countertop manufacturers: the products come in 50 mm or even 100 mm optical thickness.

In general, it can be said that technical stone countertops, compared to other covering materials, possess a unique homogeneity and non-porousness, guaranteeing maximum hygiene in all surfaces.

Due to this non-porosity and our innovative manufacturing technology, Dekton and Silestone countertops show exceptional durability against cleaning products and chemicals.

Since they consist of 90% natural quartz, they possess an outstanding thickness, which is an emphasized expectation from countertops.

The surfaces neither absorb nor form any chemical reaction with spilled liquids, therefore discoloration doesn’t occur either. In other words, we spare a fair amount of heart attacks while cleaning red wine, coffee or oil stains from the snow white countertops, since after the cleaning is done, it’s like the accident never took place.

The materials are durable, thick, impact- and scratch resistant, therefore we can freely work or even slide dishes on the surfaces.

Due to their flexibility, SILESTONE countertops exceptionally tolerate temperature fluctuation, in other words, for a short period of time we can place hot pots and pans on it (although it’s not recommended to leave them there for a longer period); we can even design them with unique and minimalist solutions, such as recessed gas burners in the countertop.

In the case of DEKTON countertops, hot pots and pans can not only be placed on them, but we can freely leave them on it too.

What are the aesthetic benefits?

Besides the general 20mm countertop thickness, Silestone and Dekton countertops also come in 12mm thickness, following today’s ethereal elegant slim trends.

If we wish to take the opposite direction and add a masculine twist to achieve a characteristic look, we are still welcome to choose from the selection of these countertop manufacturers: the products can be manufactured in 50 mm or even 100 mm with optical thickening.

The diverse sheet sizes are the representatives of mega-sized design – with the help of just one stone tablet, the walls can be covered up until the ceiling.

Where and how can they be applied?

Another benefit of these countertop types is that not only can they be produced in a wide selection regarding their sheet size, but their thickness as well. Taking contemporary interior design needs into consideration, the 0.4, 0.8 and 1.2 cm allow the production of unique furniture fronts and kitchen back walls.

From DEKTON’s 0.4 cm thick sheets, kitchen back walls and built-in furniture fronts can be produced, similarly from the 0.8 and 1.2 thick ones back walls can be manufactured – just like from SILESTONE’s 1.2 cm coverings.

Colors and textures

Among SILESTONE’s and DEKTON’s unique colors and textures, we can find a wide range of cool and warm tones both in matte and shiny alternatives. Within their textures, the most stunning marble, granite can be discovered along with metal, concrete and synthetic resin preferred by contemporary architects. These textures open up new, greater horizons in interior design planning.
